The Clay Marble
The Clay Marble is a novel, used in the 7th grade curriculum. It was written describing the life and struggles of a twelve-year-old girl and her family in war-torn Cambodia. This webquest creates an interdiciplinary project between the Language Arts classroom and the Social Studies classroom, taking students into a deeper understanding of life in Cambodia. It was adapted by Christine Youth and Claire Perren, with the permission of the original educator, Sandy Greene.

In Search of Self - Career Exploration WebQuest and Project
This project will get your students started considering your future career possibilities. It is ideal for students in Exploring Career Decisions classes.  Since the project portion requires writing an essay, this would also be ideal for the Language Arts classroom.

The student is asked to imagine being thrust into a similar situation as Mary Call Luther, suddenly being responsible for providing for a family. The students research the internet and other resources to determine how much money it would take for them to survive. From their research, they develop a spreadsheet budget. This webquest is easily adapted to the Exploring Life Skills objectives relating to managing personal and material resources to achieve goals.
